Laser hair removal is a precise treatment that uses concentrated light to target and destroy hair follicles, preventing future hair growth. Safe and effective, it offers long-lasting results with minimal discomfort, making it a popular choice for smooth, hair-free skin on various areas of the body. A contradiction is the presence of a condition that may make the client unsuitable for the treatment. The treatment may not be able to take place, or the treatment will need to be adapted if any of the following apply; -Pregnancy - Epilepsy -Open Wounds - Recently tanned skin or sun exposure in the last four weeks - Certain oral and topical medication can cause thinning of the skin or photosensitivity - History of keloid scarring PRE-TREATMENT: Please shave any area of the body that is going to be treated either morning of, or night before the treatment (except for the face.) Do NOT wax, thread, or tweeze hair before a laser treatment appointment. The hair needs to be with the follicle for the procedure to work. POST-TREATMENT: The treatment area(s) may feel slightly sensitive, similar to a sunburn level, from just a few minutes to a day depending on your skin sensitivity level, hair thickness, and hair color. You may apply a cool compress, ice pack, or soothing product such as aloe vera, Aquaphor healing ointment, or biafine until any redness or swelling subsides. Avoid hot water for 24-48 hours. You may notice hair resurfacing in a few days or weeks after treatment. Gently exfoliate the treated areas to help dead hair lift from the follicle. Do not pick at crusts or scabs. If they appear, they should heal in about one week. Do not scratch or pick at any area that itches or shows signs of healing. You can apply over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream.
